Bluebridge Ferries – Alert Level Update for ETNZ Members

Bluebridge Cook Strait Ferries reached out today to update and reassure you that Bluebridge Cook Strait Ferries is prepared and operating business as usual during Level 2:

“During the COVID Level 2 current travel restrictions that apply until midnight Wednesday 17 February 2021, we’re able to carry all passengers and vehicles who wish to travel across Cook Strait. Both ships are operating at full capacity on our full schedule. Bookings can still be made online or by calling 0800 844 844 (8.30am to 8pm, 7 days a week).

Social distancing and contact tracing measures are in place. We recommend passengers wear a face mask but this isn’t mandatory on Cook Strait ferries. It’s a lot easier to socially distance on large ships than it is on planes or public transport. Passengers should bring and wear your own face masks. If you are unable to purchase one before your sailing, and wish to wear a mask, both of our passengers terminals have some disposable masks available.

If members are unable to travel during the Level 3 restrictions that currently apply to the Auckland region until midnight Wednesday 17 February 2021, we’ll offer you flexibility to transfer or cancel your booking for a 12 month credit or full refund (applies to ETNZ members only). We’re experiencing a high volume of calls so we recommend you email your request and booking reference to

Throughout all Levels, including Level 1, our ships and terminals are being cleaned even more regularly than usual and hand sanitiser is still freely available. If  you would prefer your own space you can pre-book a private cabin with ensuite. When members check-in you will be given a disposable boarding pass. There is also a QR code displayed in both terminals that you can scan to enable easier contact tracing. Both of our ships and terminals are now cashless – card payment by payWave only. Table service is still available for our range of meals freshly prepared by our onboard chefs alongside barista made L’Affare coffee and other hot and cold drinks.”
