Bluebridge Level 3 and 4 Essential Services travel update – as at 2 Sept 2021
Unfortunately, we have had to cancel all public passenger sailings up to and including, Monday 6th of September 2021. All ETNZ members with current bookings due to sail during this time, have been contacted.
Travel under Alert Level 3
Travel under Alert level 3 is still extremely restricted. Please refer to the Government’s Covid-19 website to check eligibility to travel and what documentation is needed for travel during this time:
Booking at alert level 3
Online booking suspension date: Ability to make any new bookings online, that are due to sail prior to 14 September, has been suspended.
Members should email our teams on firstname.lastname@example.org to make bookings if needing to sail during this timeframe. Members need to ensure they are approved for travel and have the correct authorisations in place. Now in alert level 3, members can again access the member discount for their bookings. Quoting the unique member promo code, the usual terms and conditions apply.
Any new bookings due to sail after the 14th of September, can now be booked online as normal.
What does sailing at alert level 3 look like?
For those members approved for necessary travel during alert level 3, our onboard experience will differ slightly. Whilst members will still enjoy the same great customer service they have come to expect from Bluebridge over the years, some things will look a little different to help keep everyone safe.
Passengers can scan the QR code on check in to enable contract tracing. Passengers are required to wear a face covering at all times, both in the terminals and whilst onboard, and keep 2 metres from others not in their bubble. As a precaution disposable boarding passes are now given at check in. The pre-booking of private cabins is strongly encouraged, where availability allows.
Passenger’s can rest assured that increased cleaning measures are now in place both onboard the ships and in the terminals. Our staff are wearing additional PPE gear and are using hospital grade disinfectant on all surfaces. A fogging machine onboard the ships is being used, designed to disinfect large areas and kill airborne particles. Hand sanitiser is available throughout the terminals and onboard. During this time, some areas within the ship are closed to maintain physical distancing. Passengers will also notice additional Covid-19 Hygiene related signage throughout the ships and within the cabins.
We will be providing table service of our freshly prepared takeaway menu, alongside hot and cold drinks. A copy of this menu is attached.
While we wait for further Government updates on alert levels before we make any decisions about our future sailings, we will be keeping our website up-to-date with travel info throughout this time. Please visit this page: COVID-19 Travel Updates (bluebridge.co.nz).
