Announced at 2009 ETNZ Conference, the Selecon Scholarship has been made possible by the generous contribution of funds by the Directors of Selecon NZ.
The Directors of Selecon wish to acknowledge the importance of the NZ market and the impact it has had over the years. It assisted Selecon to become a truly international company which in turn attracted the likes of Philips Royal to acquire it.
The Directors hope this fund goes some way in assisting those who seek to further their education and in turn growing the knowledge base within the NZ industry as a whole.
Eligibility
An ETNZ Financial member and or a New Zealand citizen or resident
Funding may be applied for
Travel expenses
Course / conference fees
Stipends
Research
Cost of Specialist training
Internships costs
Cost of attendance at a specific event
Criteria that will be considered
What prior training the applicant may have had
The level of experience and expertise the applicant has
The applicants interest and involvement in the industry
The assessed future potential of the applicant
The quality and content of application material
How the project will benefit the industry
Application requirement
1) A complete application form. Downloadable from the RESOURCE Section of this website
2) A current resume
3) A statement of objectives for which the funding is being applied and how that will provide an immediate and ongoing benefit to the industry
4) A budget of the costs involved
5) Name, address and contact numbers of two referees
6) A substantial detailed portfolio of examples of your work
7) A personal interview
As an example a portfolio of work may include
For a designer full paperwork from a recent production
For a mechanist may include hanging plots, masking plans etc
For a Stage manager would include a prompt script, rehearsal schedules ets
For a Production manager to include schedules, budgets, crew lists, supply contact etc
Application Process
Applications will be considered 3 times per year and must be received by the 30th of March , July, and November each year
Dependant on the application you may be required to attend an interview.
