Mechanist - Royal NZ Ballet

This application is for two contracts touring RNZB's "Angelina Ballerina": Tour of Australia (5 venues) 10th Dec 2011 - 5th Feb 2012 and New Zealand Tour (15 Venues) 12th Mar 2012 - 6th May 2012

The successful person will work directly under the supervision of the Production and Technical Stage Managers during the first two venues in Australia. After this they will be in charge of the in house mechanists for each venue, working alongside the Stage Manager and Head of Lighting, to fit-up and run the shows in the final three Australian theatres. The second contract will see the applicant tour the show to 15 venues around New Zealand.

A working knowledge and experience of touring theatre is essential, as well as a broad base of skills in the technical and production arts. The applicant will also have to have good leadership skills and some experience in this area would be preferable.

Five or more years of relevant experience. Working knowledge of tab tracks. Understanding of counterweight flying systems and operation. Touring experience. Crew management skills
