The Department of Performing and Screen Arts offers professionally focused
education and training through its industry recognised diploma, degree and
graduate diploma programmes in the discipline fields of: acting for screen and
theatre; directing and writing for screen; film & TV production; live
performance & technologies; contemporary dance and choreography; and music.
This position combines teaching in performance technology with technical design
and supervision of students and facilities during live performance productions.
Some assistance will also be required on cross-disciplinary collaborations
within the department involving digital media.
Applicants must have:
· Relevant experience and contribution to the live-performance technical production industry
· Experience in technical design and management
· Familiarity with entertainment technology resources
· Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel, CAD (Vectorworks), Internet searching and production technology applications
Ideally you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and previous
experience of teaching performance technology in a tertiary education
environment. However if you are an experienced practitioner with evidence of
your ability to successfully transfer knowledge of your craft (e.g. through
teaching in the secondary education sector, voluntary work, delivering
training, workshops, one on one coaching or mentoring) and have a keen interest
in developing your skills as a teacher, we would also like to hear from you.
