Head Mechanist

The Royal New Zealand Ballet is one of New Zealand's largest and most successful arts organizations, it works in an exciting and challenging entertainment market and is committed to being a touring dance company of excellence through dynamic team work.

The organisation is seeking an individual who is self-motivated, possesses good communication and people skills, is confident, demonstrates initiative, works well within a team and with relevant background in technical management to join its busy Production Department.

Essential requirements for this position are:

• Staff management experience
• A working knowledge of scenery construction
• A basic knowledge of H&S
• Touring experience
• Minimum 2 years experience in similar role
• Good interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure
