Events Technician - Hamilton

Offering a range of venues including three theatres and the new multi-purpose Claudelands Events Centre with its indoor arena, conference and exhibition facilities, this is an exciting and stable opportunity for you to be part of the Technical Team delivering events in our city.
As Event Technician, you will be responsible for delivering high quality services to national and international productions as well as local community groups across this diverse range of venues. Your strong technical knowledge, solid work ethic, friendly attitude, good communication skills and ability to work within a diverse team will see you provide hands-on, technical advice and service to facility users whilst ensuring the 'venue protection' protocols around health and safety and compliance are adhered to.

You will show a high level of proficiency in set up, operation, maintenance and design of standard lighting systems in a theatrical, performance and conference context. Experience in programming and operating Grand MA, Strand and ETC lighting consoles is essential. A significant, practical level of experience in all other fields of event and theatre technology such as audio, video, flying and rigging is a prerequisite. Experience in stage management and a current HT licence or electrical qualifications would be a bonus.

Due to the nature of live performance venues, you will be expected to work outside regular hours of operation, weekends and public holidays based on varying event schedules and client requirements.
