Wire rope grips

This was found this in the NZ approved code of practice for load lifting.

4.4 WIRE ROPE (BULLDOG) GRIPS
4.4.1 Do not use wire rope (bulldog) grips on any load-hoisting rope.
They are only suitable for forming an eye on stays or guys.

Any comments??

Hi Bill,

My understanding is that the wire rope grips in NZ are cast not forged so there is no guaranty of quality.
