Video in theatre performance

Hi everybody.
Im a kiwi working in London as a dedicated video engineer specialising in integrating video elements into performance.
I have a few questions about the NZ industry;
Are people starting to use video in their productions? is it becoming more popular? or is it in general cost prohibitive/lack of equipment/lack of expertise

If video is being used to what extent? and what equipment are people using?
